On Wednesday 19 December, students from Myton and Round Oak School were invited to a ‘Glow in the Dark Sports Festival’ in our Sports Hall. The Myton students, who are in Year 7, have been involved in a pilot project aimed at developing life skills such as organisation and personal responsibility through competition. The other aim for this project was to help students who knew very few other people when they first started at Myton, settle into life here. This project was set up by the Youth Sport Trust, and we have been running events with Round Oak School to promote the idea.
The group of around 14 committed Year 7s have been meeting on a Thursday lunchtime to take part in football and basketball activities and develop new friendships. Thank you to our School Games organisers, Ali Knight and Sarah Cleaver, who wanted to reward the students with the event. They all had a lot of fun!
