On Thursday 1 March (the first day of spring) six of our intrepid Year 12 German students battled through the snow to Coten End Primary School to deliver an afternoon of fun-filled activities in German to Year 6 pupils organised by Mrs Edwards of Myton and Mrs Allison of Coten End.
The theme was one of Germany’s biggest cultural events, which takes place every year in the lead up to Lent when the German people celebrate the end of winter and prepare themselves to fast for 40 days before Easter.
Our students performed a short drama in German before leading the children in a variety of different creative activities, which were greeted with great enjoyment and enthusiasm.
The Head of Coten End, Sarah Sheepy, was also impressed by the students, “The students were a true inspiration and a credit to Myton. They even managed to produce a lovely display which has pride of place in our hall!”
We all look forward to further work together in the future.
