We’re pleased to announce that, thanks to the Friends of Myton School and the School Fund, we have recently been able to fund three important projects in school. They have gone 50/50 to cover the cost of:
Safeline – A project to support vulnerable students with an 8-week personal and social development programme. Group discussions on internet safety, child sexual exploitation, keeping safe and bullying. Safeline is a leading specialist charity.
Talk the Talk – A one-day course for 12 & 13 year olds which builds their confidence in public speaking. We use an external charity who bring in expert trainers and coaches to deliver classroom-based workshops designed to develop communication skills. This training has a massive impact on students’ oracy and confidence in public speaking.
Portable staging – This staging can be dismantled and easily stored when not in use. It can be transported across the school site to different locations and can be made to fit the area in which it is being used. The staging can be used in lessons and by our extremely popular extracurricular drama clubs (which attract over 100 students) and in our productions.
Thank you to FOMS for all your fundraising efforts and to those parents who have contributed to the School Fund. If you haven’t yet made your School Fund donation for this term, you can find all the information on our website, or make the payment via ParentPay.
