Students from Years 9 to 13 went on an Enabling Enterprise trip recently to the Monarch Aircraft Facility in Birmingham. They had a tour of the building where six jet aircraft were being worked on and then had the opportunity to explore the flight deck and first-class cabin of a Boeing 787 aircraft.
Working in teams, students were set the challenge of rebranding a failing airline. Teams worked effectively together with people they hadn’t worked with before, factoring in their target market and coming up with some great ideas and plans to re-brand ‘Abacus Airways’. They developed some great advertising slogans and logos whilst putting together marketing plans for their rebranded airline. The day concluded with confident marketing presentations from all teams.
One of the students said: “I’ve had a great day. Getting to go into the planes was amazing, the team challenge really helped to develop my team work and understand that I need to work a bit more on my presenting skills.”
Thank you to Monarch and Enabling Enterprise for giving our students such a valuable day.
