Our A level English students had an inspirational day at the RSC Rome Conference on Thursday 6 April.
The theme of the day was the power of rhetoric and students worked with Greg Doran, the artistic director; the two actors currently playing Mark Antony and Brutus in Julius Caesar; the lead acting coach and the lead vocal/text coach. They explored speeches from Titus Andronicus, Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra. They also took part in a live streamed debate with an expert panel. It was a great day, finished off with an evening in the RSC watching Antony and Cleopatra. We were left in no doubt about the power of rhetoric… or Cleopatra!
