Dear Parents and Carers
A warm welcome to all our existing and new parents and students.
2018 has been a great year for Myton School so far. We are delighted with another year of outstanding results; our best ever in fact. In English, 85% of our Year 11s gained grades 9-4 (A*-C) and in maths it was 81%. An impressive 32% of our students gained grades 9-7 (A*/A) in English and 27% in maths. Science built on previous successes with over 75% of students gaining at least two grades 9-4 and over 20% gaining two grades 9-7.
At A Level, we have maintained our performance in line with the top 25%-30% of sixth forms in the country and our Year 13 students have all gone to very desirable destinations. Much has been made of the new courses at GCSE and A Level, and our strong results are a credit to our students’ hard work, our staff’s excellent teaching, and your relentless support of your children and the school.
These results followed our excellent Ofsted last February, including the ‘Outstanding’ grade for the sixth form and, to cap it all, we have welcomed in a delightful group of Year 7s this week who are tackling school with enthusiasm and determination (in between getting lost).
We start this September with a real sense of optimism: celebrating our successes, welcoming Years 7 and 12, and launching our project aimed at developing students’ understanding of each other’s differences and promoting a sense of value and respect throughout our school.
Best wishes
Andy Perry – Head Teacher
