Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to Miss Arliss for another great production. It is Pinocchio this time and, as ever, Miss Arliss has put her own slant on the plot to make sure all 155 students who wished to take part could do so. Thank you to the Drama Department for their hard work putting on this play and to all the students who so clearly enjoyed every minute, and to FOMS for keeping us all hydrated during the interval.
This week we have had the Year 11 and Year 13 leavers’ balls. Both were brilliant events and I am glad to say that there was a screen up for the football at the Year 11 prom. However, we did have to take it down before extra time to allow the DJ to start up, which meant about 100 of us crowded around a laptop to watch the penalties. The hope certainly kicked in after that, with dozens of students bellowing “Football’s coming home!” on the dance floor. It couldn’t happen could it?
I would like to thank all the staff who have put on events this half term: the leavers’ balls, the drama production, trips to Newquay and further trips led by PE, Geography, Modern Languages and Art, as well as careers events to help our Year 10s think about their post-16 choices. It is a busy time but very rewarding for the students so thank you to everybody who is going the extra mile to make all this happen.
With best wishes
Andy Perry – Head Teacher
