Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to all staff and students involved in this week’s Little Shop of Horrors production, it is a triumph! Who wouldn’t enjoy watching some of our students being eaten by a blood thirsty plant live on stage?
Lily Crockford and Dan Maughan take the lead roles and their performances are brilliant; they sing beautifully. Tom Cannon (who I have not yet forgiven for his last performance in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when he announced to the audience that he had found a sizeable stash of chocolate whilst pointing at my stomach) does a great job as the shop owner looking for some profit. And Freddie Hammond seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself playing a strung out, sadistic dentist.
Katie Naylor, Caitlin Finan, Imogen Morris, Isabel Simmons and Lara Hobden lead the bigger, whole company songs demonstrating their own fantastic singing voices. Ross Metcalfe, Thabo Strauswald, Ed Murdoch and Jacob Walden play the blood thirsty, potty mouthed plant very entertainingly.
To all these students, the whole cast, the musicians, the technical team, backstage crew, front of house and to Clare Stringer, Abbie Arliss, Harry Robbins, Alex Town, Andrew Atkins and Cathryn Myers congratulations and thank you all for putting on such an entertaining production.
Earlier this week, pupils from St Margaret’s Junior School came to see the dress rehearsal and sent a message of thanks. “We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Myton today. Staff and Year 6 pupils alike thought the play was brilliant. It was lovely to see some of our ex-pupils in Year 7 in the audience as well as some old St Margaret’s faces in the cast!”
Best wishes
