Dear Parents and Carers
All over the country, parents are receiving letters from the Head Teachers of their children’s schools warning of the impact of cuts to education. Although on the surface the education budget has been protected, increased costs have been passed to schools (employer National Insurance and pension contributions for example) which must be drawn from this static budget. This reduces the money remaining to educate children.
At Myton School we have a close working relationship with all the secondary schools in the central Warwickshire area: Aylesford, Trinity, Campion, North Leamington, Kenilworth and Southam. Together we have composed a letter (which you will be receiving by email) which is signed by the Heads of all seven schools. This details our position regarding school funding, but also explains that the Government’s proposed new formula for funding schools will further reduce the funding to our seven schools by £¾ million pounds per year.
You can download the letter here: Central Warwickshire Secondary Schools letter to parents. It explains how you can register your opinions on all of these points through a consultation exercise which has another 10 days or so to run.
Please take the time to read this letter and should you wish to register any opinion, the links are included. We will also be sending the letter to our MP and the local press.
Thank you for your support.
