Dear Parents and Carers
I am delighted to have been appointed the permanent Head Teacher of Myton School. I have thoroughly enjoyed the role of Interim Head since May and am looking forward to building on the work we have started. Over the course of the interview, I was able to discuss with governors how our next five years may look and how we can further improve Myton to make it the outstanding school at the heart of our community that we want it to be.
By spring, we will be in a position to begin a new cycle of school improvement, based on our shared vision and involving all the students, parents, staff and governors. We are looking forward to continuing to raise the expectations for all students who come to Myton; celebrating their successes on the way, providing an education which leads to exceptional exam performance and also develops confident but reflective young people who are ready for the workplace.
To this end, we are working closely with Mrs Sheepy, Head of Coten End Primary School. We are determined that the challenge and academic rigour seen in our partner primaries, particularly around literacy, is continued through into Key Stage 3, setting our students on the right path. I am thoroughly enjoying opportunities to collaborate with and learn from Coten End Primary and am looking forward to working with all our primary partners.
I would like to thank the parents, students, governors and staff who have been kind enough to send congratulatory messages to me on my appointment. It is a fantastic job to lead Myton School and work with the outstanding students who arrive here every day. I am very much looking forward to working with you all to deliver our vision of an outstanding school at the heart of the community.
Kind regards
Andy Perry
