Dear Parents and Carers
On Thursday the school participated in the funeral of Kieran Long. The dignity of the family, the thoughtfulness of the selected readings and eulogies, the support of his friends from school; all made the occasion a very poignant and moving one.
Kieran was a much loved member of the Myton community, a talented musician and photographer who had many friends – he was a decent young man.
Thank you for your messages which will be included in the Book of Condolence for Kieran’s family. We count ourselves fortunate to have known Kieran for the time he was with us.
Ellie, Kieran’s sister and a former student, read the following at the service:
THE UNFINISHED
We cannot judge a biography by its length,
Nor by the number of pages in it.
We must judge it by the richness of its contents
Sometimes those unfinished are among the most poignant.
We cannot judge a song by its duration
Nor by the number of its notes
We must judge it by the way it touches and lifts our souls
Sometimes those unfinished are among the most beautiful.
And when something has enriched your life
And when its melody lingers on in your heart
Is it unfinished? Or is it endless?
