Teaching Assistant (TA1)

£8,038 – £10,662 p.a. (for 20-25 hours per week during term-time) (£17,364 – £18,426 p.a. pro-rata)

Working in a supportive role in a caring environment as a Teaching Assistant you will support the educational, personal and social development of students with varied and sometimes multiple learning barriers and needs in the classroom, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.  This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the achievements of our young people (11–16 years) who need additional support and understanding.

You will be part of a large and supportive team of TAs in the Learning, Intervention and Nurture Centre (The LINC) which has a great reputation for supporting students with special educational needs, disabilities, anxiety, learning barriers and multiple and complex needs.  Your support as a TA enables students to access a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum and to be fully included in all aspects of school life and will support the school’s vision of ‘no child left behind.’

We are ideally looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated applicants with some experience of working with young people (voluntary or paid), who are passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential.  This is a rewarding and varied role where you will need a positive and flexible approach to work.

Inclusion Tutor

£14,573 to £15,162 p.a. for 33.5 hours a week term-time (£18,795 to £19,554 p.a.pro-rata)

Could you become part of a dedicated and dynamic team and change the future of many young lives in a positive way?

As a member of the Inclusion Team, you will provide effective intervention for students inside and out of the classroom to support students to address barriers to learning, and enable them to engage with and participate fully in school.  You will oversee the progress of vulnerable students including those eligible for Pupil Premium, planning intervention and liaising with teaching staff and other departments as necessary.  Individual, peer and group mentoring sessions will be required as well as liaison with parents/carers. You will need to be patient, firm and confident with vulnerable young people as well as energetic, caring and supportive.  This is a rewarding role for someone who is willing to give their full support to students.

Cover Supervisor

4 days a week (26 hours) over 39 weeks a year/term-time – £12,002 – £12,737 p.a. (£19,945 – £21,166 p.a. pro-rata)

If you are confident, a good communicator and enjoy working with young people, you could make an excellent classroom Cover Supervisor.  Following a period of induction, you will supervise classes and students’ learning in the teacher’s absence, to maintain continuity in the classroom. You will also supervise students during part of the lunch-break and assist with admin tasks.  There may be flexibility in the number of days worked up to 5 days (32.5 hours) a week.
