Horrible Histories Event
In November we held an after-school Horrible Histories event for students in Years 7 and 8 in the library. Our school librarians Mrs Thomson and Mrs Drage transformed the library into a Horrible Histories-themed world, filled with gore, rats, knights, monarchs, castles, dungeons and Viking ships.

Roald Dahl centenary
In September we celebrated 100 years of Roald Dahl in style (and with lots of cake). Our Year 7 students took part in a ‘Big Friendly Read’ and our Year 8 helpers entertained us with their readings and dramatic re-enactments of scenes from the books.

Harry Potter Quiz

In October 2017 we took 50 Year 7 and 8 students to meet children’s author Jonathan Stroud at Warwick School. Jonathan was promoting the fifth and final instalment in the Lockwood & Co series, The Empty Grave.
Here’s what best selling author Rick Riordan had to say about the series: “This story will keep you reading late into the night, but you’ll want to leave the lights on… Stroud is a genius at inventing an utterly believable world which is very much like ours, but so creepily different.”
In March 2017 we were delighted to welcome into school, author Sarah Crossan.
