Inclusion and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
We believe that all students should be equally valued and safe in school. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse learning atmosphere where everyone can flourish. In the Development Centre we assist students with challenging and varied education, health and social care needs and help their parents/carers.
The Development Centre Team
The Development Centre was created with a clear vision of the importance of assisting students who have challenging and varied needs. We work together as a specialised, highly successful team including:

In the Hub we aim to support and develop a student’s personal, social and emotional needs, helping them to learn more effectively and make progress in the classroom. Staff work together with external professionals and parents to offer a holistic approach to ensuring that students achieve and succeed.
Our students who are at risk of underachieving, especially those who are entitled to the Pupil Premium funding (such as students on free school meals; those who are Looked After and Asylum Seekers) receive priority for additional support. These students and their families are given assistance with parents’ evenings, a range of extra academic and emotional support, and in some cases a key worker to regularly meet with them one-to-one (in addition to their support from form tutors).
