Five years ago, Jamie in Year 10, started training in karate, working hard through the grades to achieve his Black Belt in March 2022. In April his club ATMA Karate were invited to the World IMA competition in Belfast competing with 8 other countries.
Jamie was mentored by Master Alastair Banks and Mr Jed Brown from ATMA Karate, who taught him his forms. Jamie achieved a Silver medal in sword form and his mentor, Jed, was so proud that he presented him with his own sword for future tournaments.
Last weekend Jamie achieved a Silver medal in empty hand form and a Gold medal in sword form at an inter club tournament.
Jamie has shown great commitment to Karate, always pushing himself to be the best and continuing to improve and learn more.
