On Monday the English department took 120 Year 8 students to the theatre – this long awaited post-Covid closure treat was well worth the wait. The RSC Christmas productions are always a spectacle, and this didn’t disappoint. A singing, dancing, puppetry masterclass; this play is based on the novel of the same name and is centred on a magician’s trick going wrong – and a giant Elephant being conjured up in this small Victorian city. Our students loved being able to go on a school trip again and being able to get to the theatre for the first time in a very long time; some of us even had front row seats! Our partnership with the RSC means that hopefully this will be the first of many theatre visits to come.
It was a beautiful family show that I’d recommend you try and get tickets for – this link explains how you get some bargain tickets to get your family back into the theatre this winter. (Try First Time Friday, Rush Tickets or Standby Seats.) https://www.rsc.org.uk/ticket-prices-discounts-offers/
