Our Year 7 students recently took part in vocal workshops held by singing leaders from Warwick as part of the Singing Town project.
Students were taught a series of physical and vocal warm ups and simple songs that were sang in harmony. The lively sessions were well received by students who joined in enthusiastically. It was particularly good to see so many boys enjoying singing, as well as some Myton staff members! Members of the Vocal Group received some additional vocal coaching after the workshops.
These workshops form part of a two-year programme, providing high quality singing projects in Warwick, and Myton’s ongoing drive to encourage more students to take part in singing in school. After the workshops, several students were inspired to come along to the next Vocal Group lunchtime session.
Thank you to the Singing Town team for providing such energetic sessions and we hope to see you return later in the year.
