Year 12 welcomed Tony and Jan to their assembly this week, who are part of the Register and Be a Lifesaver Education Programme.
Tony and Jan sadly lost their daughter Gemma to leukaemia in 2006 and now visit schools educating young people on blood, organ and stem cell donation. It was an emotional yet inspiring assembly with some difficult but important topics discussed.
Information on stem cell donation for people aged 30 and under can be found on the Anthony Nolan website. Those aged over 30 can find information on donation here.
The NHS also provide information on organ and blood donation.
Our thanks to Tony and Jan for sharing their experience with us.
