A round-up of our Sports News so far this year…
Girls’ Football
Our girls’ football teams have had a successful start to the year, with both the U13 and U15 teams taking part in the ESFA National Schools’ Competition. The U13s lost in the 2nd round but the U15s managed to reach the 4th round.
The U13 and U15 teams have also taken part in the 7-a-side league tournaments with much success. We have managed to field between 3-4 teams every Tuesday evening, with the U13s and U15s winning and drawing most of their games against other schools in the area.
Our U14 team have their quarter final game in the District Cup competition against Kenilworth fast approaching and the U13 and U16 teams have their quarter final matches after the Christmas break.
Netball
The netball teams across all year groups have made a good start to their league matches this year, with the Year 11 team winning their Central Warwickshire tournament.
Street Dance
Congratulations to those pupils who were successful in passing their street dance grade exams in November. A street dance competition will take place in March.
Badminton and Hockey
It has been wonderful to see so many students attend these clubs over the last term and with some fixtures looming next term we are hopeful that more will join these activity clubs.
Year 7 Rugby
Well done to our Year 7 boys’ rugby team who played in their first rugby fixture for Myton last month. Most had never played rugby before! Despite the pitches resembling swamps, the boys put in 4 gritty performances and did themselves and the school proud. 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses against a very established rugby school.
