Congratulations to Simon in Year 12, who has received the Rotary Club Children of Courage Award 2020. The ceremony took place on Tuesday 10 March in Kenilworth.
Mrs Voss, who nominated Simon, said in her speech:
“Simon, who has additional needs and who has undergone spinal surgery in the lead up to his GCSEs, joined Myton from Exhall Grange School in September 2019 to study Government and Politics, History and English Literature at A level.”
“He has settled into life at Myton incredibly well and is a very popular student with staff and peers. He works hard, he volunteers regularly in school and he is form rep. He is a funny, diligent and happy young man.”
Thomas in Year 11, who received the award last year, was invited by the Rotary Club to give a speech. They had heard him at the Youth Speaks debating competition and thought it would be inspiring for others to hear what he had to say.
Well done to Simon on his thoroughly-deserved award!
