Dear Parents and Carers
As part of our succession planning process, and to consolidate our breadth of skills and experience, the governing body is looking to appoint two or three new governors, and I am writing to invite expressions of interest from the Myton community.
At the current time we are looking for specific skill sets. We are particularly interested in finding an experienced health and safety professional (NEBOSH qualified), an accountant and someone with experience in senior leadership roles in education.
The governors play a key role in the strategic leadership of the school, working together with the staff to ensure the school provides an enriching and rewarding environment, where all students are able reach their full potential.
As a school governor, you’re expected to commit to a minimum of six full governors’ meetings and six committee meetings each year. Governors are invited to join one or two committees to which they feel they can add value and would share a lead role for an area of the School Improvement Plan. The governing body is actively supported by the school leadership team and staff.
If you are interested in becoming a governor, please contact Charles Craft, Clerk to Governors on [email protected]. Appointment would be subject to interview, references and DBS check.
Regards
Mike Oldridge
Chair of Governors
