There is an offsite training walk for all those working towards a Duke Of Edinburgh (DofE) Award on Friday 4 March.
A letter was sent home to Parents and Carers this week by DofE Manager, Mrs Francis, with details, including the drop off and collection point (Warwick Parkway overflow car park) and a list of the required kit for the day. A pair of good walking boots is an essential for the walk so, if your young person doesn’t have a pair at the moment, the half term holiday is the perfect time to make the purchase and spend some time breaking them in! Go Outdoors in Coventry is a great place to get kit and provides fitting advice. Boots can also be purchased at suppliers such as Mountain Warehouse, Trespass and Millets – all DofE participants have a discount card in their Welcome Pack and this can be used at all major camping retailers for between a 10% and 20% discount.
If for any reason your Welcome Pack has not yet arrived, a digital copy of the discount card is available from the DofE website.
