A big thank you to Myton parent and school governor Charlotte Blake and the Facebook group she belongs to – Midlands NHS Uniform Bag Donations – who have donated 200 bags for school staff to use for their clothes when they leave work.
The group was started at the beginning of April by local midwives who wanted to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 by producing a bag to put uniform in after a shift so that it could go straight into the wash. The group has grown and it now has approximately 2.1k members making items. They have provided over 8,000 bags to various locations including the Nightingale Hospital, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Warwick Hospital and UHCW, community mental health teams, palliative care services, the prison service, local hospices, police and ambulance service and now schools.
