Two Year 9 students represented the school at Warwick’s annual Holocaust Memorial Day service.
Josh and Zara were nominated by their teachers for their attitude and commitment in lessons and they “brilliantly delivered a very powerful shared reading of Elie Wiesel’s 1986 Nobel Prize acceptance speech,” said Mrs Woodward, Head of History.
The event, which was held at Warwick’s War Memorial, was attended by around 50 people from local schools as well as dignitaries, including the town’s Mayor, who laid wreaths to remember those lost in the Holocaust and other genocides.
Year 9 have just finished studying the unit on the Holocaust and will shortly hear live testimony from survivors in their lessons through Teams.
