Myton School’s governing body is looking to appoint a number of new School Governors. Please see information below from Mike Oldridge, our Chair of Governors.
“As part of our succession planning process, and to consolidate our breadth of skills and experience, the Governing Body is looking to appoint a number of new Governors, and I am writing to invite expressions of interest from the Myton community.
The Governors play a key role in the strategic leadership of the school, working together with the staff to ensure the school provides an enriching and rewarding environment, where all students are able reach their full potential.
I think all the Governors would agree that it is a fascinating role that enables a real insight into the workings of the school and allows for you to make a real impact in taking Myton forward.
As a School Governor, you would be expected to commit to a minimum of six full Governors’ meetings and six committee meetings each year. Governors are invited to join one or two committees to which they feel they can add value and would share a lead role for an area of the School Improvement Plan. The Governing Body is actively supported by the school leadership team and staff.
If you are interested in becoming a Governor, please contact [email protected]. Appointment would be subject to interview, references and DBS check.”
