Next week is the deadline for groups of Year 12 students to sign up to find ways of turning £40 cash into as much money as possible for Myton Hospice.
Myton School is one of 40 organisations who are taking part in the ‘Take 40 Challenge’ between January and April to celebrate the charity’s 40th anniversary this year.
As part of their enrichment, Year 12 volunteers can work in groups during their free lessons to come up with ways to fundraise and increase the price of a meal out for two (£40) into a greater amount for the charity.
Business Studies teacher Mrs Foster, who co-ordinated the launch of the activity with a video, says the students will be demonstrating their creativity and developing transferable skills which will support them when they complete references, UCAS applications and interviews.
The groups will be meeting the Myton Hospice Fundraising team over the coming weeks to share initial ideas and gain feedback on their ideas.
