Our Year 12s were lucky enough to have a real Sheriff as their guest speaker this week. David Kelham, High Sheriff of Warwickshire, took time out of his busy schedule to talk (in full dress!) about how he became a Sheriff, the work that he does, and the importance of this traditional role. For obvious reasons David left his ceremonial sword at home, but did bring his bicorn hat! Apart from working with charitable organisations and his focus on legal initiatives, the most important aspect of his role is to thank people. As an official figurehead, the recognition of others’ work is fundamental to the role. And we are very grateful too!
If you would like to get involved in Speaker Week to enthuse, engage and broaden the horizons of our Sixth Form (we welcome speakers from any field) please contact [email protected] or [email protected] to find out more.
