We are delighted to offer a summer challenge for students in Years 7 and 8. This challenge is being held across UK schools by a group of specialists who work on the internet group ‘Internet Geography’. The challenge aims to encourage young people to engage in activities related to Geography, to broaden their understanding of the world around them, whilst allowing them to be more creative.
The competition involves students selecting 10 activities from a menu of challenges and collecting evidence of each as they go along. Students should then submit these to the Geography Department by Thursday 8 September 2022. We would ask that students provide their evidence either through email to myself at [email protected] or bring this to the Geography Office, which is between G2 and G3. As a department, we will select the best 3 and issue prizes. The best submission will then be entered to the Internet Geography National Geography Summer Challenge, where students could receive a £30 Love to Shop voucher.
Challenges include:
Squish it | Leaf | Sustainable living | Weather |
Landmark | Montage | Sewing Bee challenge | Cloud challenge |
Tweet | Tourism | Skilled up | Field sketch |

Mapimap | Upcycle | Sketch it | Footprint |
