On Friday 13 March, we held our second in-school training day for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Fifty-five eager Bronze Award participants had a whole day of training on map reading and navigation skills. They learned about basic first aid, considered a range of emergency scenarios and how to deal with them, then had their first taste of putting up tents with a good deal of success! The rest of the day was spent planning their assessed expedition.
Our DofE coordinator, Mrs Francis said: “All the students showed real enthusiasm and excitement for their upcoming expeditions and the programme in general.”
