On Monday, the Sixth Form Senate’s Environment Committee hosted a tutor freeze period on the UN COP26 conference. Students learnt about the importance of the conference in tackling climate change, as well as thinking about things we can do as a school, and as individuals.
As part of our coverage of COP26 in school, some students from Years 7 and 8 completed a session on extinction and ways to prevent this. Students were also asked to create bunting with their vision for the future of nature in 2050, a key deadline for action against climate change and biodiversity loss.
We have included some exceptional examples of the amazing work both years have made, well done!
The committee has said the following: ‘It has been incredibly humbling to hear of the passion of students to rise up to the biggest challenge of our generation and it acts as a great beam of hope to see the ambitious pledges students have made to make an impact in combatting the climate crisis, we want to thank all of the students and staff for their support in delivering this session and hope to see you all again soon.’
