Local charity, Young People First, is holding an event for people to bring along unwanted clothes and provide an opportunity for families facing economic pressures to access clothing, towels, bedding, coats and food.
This is the first event of its kind for Young People First (YPF) which supports young people aged eight to 18 in the Brunswick area of Leamington. On Thursdays during term time, the charity’s volunteers run a cafe for families to access food and support and the ‘Bring what you can event’ between 10am and 8pm on Thursday 20 October is similar to initiatives run by YPF in the summer holidays when food parcels and ‘funbank’ activities are provided in the community.
The event will be held at the Westbury Centre on Westlea Road, Leamington Spa, CV31 3JE. Refreshments will be provided.
Donations of food, clothing, bedding etc can also be dropped off at other times by arrangement and the the charity may be able to collect.
STOP PRESS: The charity, which also offers youth club provisions, mentoring in schools and school-based lunch groups, is keen to recruit volunteers who can assist in delivering its work. To find out more please contact: [email protected] STOP PRESS STOP PRESS STOP PRESS STOP PRESS.
