Celebrating success in maths

This week, we asked our Maths Department to nominate those students whose work their teachers think should be celebrated. We’ve sent electronic postcards home to everyone mentioned here.

Mr Ealden’s classes

Jasleen B – for getting full marks on virtually all of the work set. A star in the making!

Jaspreet B – for attempting all tasks to the best of her ability and responding well to advice.

Mr Flanagan-Jones’ classes

Libby B – for excellent effort throughout lockdown.

Amelia B – for consistently excellent work throughout lockdown.

Megan B – for excellent work and communication throughout lockdown.

Miss Blackburn’s classes

Kyle M – for working really hard, submitting work as much as possible and keeping in touch when he finds things hard.

Mrs Haji’s classes

Joseph D – for working hard and doing all the work set during lockdown.

Priyaa B – for being resilient in her work.

Eden B – for working hard, completing most of Maths work (and sometimes trying challenge questions).

Harrison R – for trying hard to get the best results in Maths and never giving up! Resilient!

Holly T – for working hard in Maths. She always tries to attempt the extension task to challenge herself.

Mrs Roberts’ classes

Jeeya D – for finding the mistakes in the answers and questioning me about them.

Priya M – for attempting every task to the best of her ability.

Jamie P – for always being first to complete work and doing every task.

Alex S – for persevering with the work and completing it all.

Miss Patel’s classes

Carys R – for working really well in the past few months, responding to feedback and going over previous lessons to improve her work.

Sanya T – for working really hard over the past few months, diligently completing maths work.

Mr Rosenbaum’s classes

Alex J – for completing over and above what he’s been set on mymaths.

Anastasiya P – for completing over and above she’s been set on mymaths.

Ben R – for completing a whopping 112 tasks on mymaths!

Mrs Mercer’s classes

Sophie W – Sophie has made excellent progress through her home learning tasks. Work is always completed on time and to a very high standard. Sophie is often getting a 100% on quizzes and mathswatch tasks.

Ben S – Excellent progress through the home learning period. Ben is working with high effort, is clearly well organised as tasks are all completed on time. He is also really challenging himself to complete extension questions, this is resulting in pleasing progress on topics. All his scores have been excellent, often 100%.

Hari G – Excellent understanding and effort throughout home learning, demonstrated with high scores on quizzes and mathswatch tasks. This included a very positive exam performance.

Frezelson F – Frezelson is trying hard on all tasks and is well organised. He is demonstrating a great deal of grit and tenacity to try and achieve his best scores.

Mr Ismail’s classes

Shaiya P – for outstanding effort on every piece of work and always remaining positive. Well done Shaniya!

Ethan C – for fantastic effort and work ethic throughout. Well done Ethan!

James T – Well done for all the work you submitted throughout.

Miss Gunn’s classes

Julia D – for being fully engaged and focused on her work throughout lock down, seeking clarity when she’s unsure of something and great communication.

Anita K – for being fully engaged in all topics throughout lock down, asking questions and seeking further information when she’s not sure of a topic. Excellent communication with me each lesson and just a super attitude towards her maths.

Harry O – for completing every piece of work set to a really high standard, seeking help when required and having a great attitude to his maths study and even spotting my MCU film references.

Mrs Davis’ classes

Ryan S – Ryan has really stepped up his game and has worked solidly throughout lockdown. He asks for help when needed and has shown a great attitude.

Julia R F – Julia has been a model student. She works exceptionally hard to ensure she fully understands the work. If she doesn’t get it 100% right then she will go back and try it again until she gets it. Excellent resilience.

Oscar W – Oscar is such a hard worker. He takes the time to ensure he completely understands the work and then carefully completes it.

Daniel D S – Daniel has shown great attitude and resilience in his work. He will happily message for support and rejoices in his successes.
