The Community Autism Support Service (CASS) run social groups for young people who are on the pathway for diagnosis or have been diagnosed with autism. They run every Monday during term time at a Community Centre in Warwick.
These groups promote a safe space for young people to meet new people in a supportive, understanding environment, and have fun without judgement and pressure to conform to social norms. They allow autistic young people to build friendships with other autistic children their age and gain a sense of belonging when meeting like-minded peers. Typical activities include games, sensory exploration, arts, crafts, and cooking. The young people can engage with these should they wish to, but do not have to.
The group ages and times are as follow:
- Ages 7-11 at 4pm-5pm
- Ages 11-15 at 5.15pm-6.15pm
- Ages 15-19 at 6.30pm-7.30pm
Parents need to initially register their child using this link or via the QR code in the flyer below.
