Dear Parents and Carers
Lovely to see the Sixth Formers taking the initiative this Valentine’s Day and setting up their red rose scheme – pay £2 and they will deliver a rose on your behalf (named or anonymous). Clearly romance is thriving in the Sixth Form, even saw a couple of the younger members of staff subtly sending roses to one another. Good job too, offsets the rest of us dinosaurs who aspire for a nice comfortable rut in life, free of any hint of spontaneity. Spoke to one colleague who had taken a picture of a Valentine’s card and texted it to her husband because she thought the three quid was a bit much – that’s more like it.
Good luck to the Sixth Formers, I like that they are cooking up fundraising schemes which also give the kids some fun heading into the half term break.
Thanks to everyone for their support so far this year, the February half term marks the halfway point of the academic year, term-wise at least, and experience tells us the second half of the year, as the sun comes out, weather warms, field opens and Year 11s and 13s head into their exams, always seems to pass far more quickly than the first. Hope all the students enjoy their week off and come back bright and ready to learn.
Best wishes
Andy Perry
