Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to the Year 11 team and students for their Prom last night. The kids were a lot of fun and good company and as ever, they looked amazing. Some very stylish entrances to the venue capped off by a 12-motorcycle escort for two of the girls. They all swept into the room in a blur of glamour and sartorial elegance before the familiar howls of pain started as some of the girls shrank 6 inches by ditching the prom shoes for trainers/DMs/flip flops/socks/bare feet. They enjoyed a very civilised meal (I say enjoyed, obviously the food wasn’t quite beige enough as the phones lit up around the place booking McDonalds, pizza etc) and then the music started up. The tunes went down very well judging by the large throng of lads all grabbing each other in the middle of the dance floor belting out Sweet Caroline among others and being carefully avoided by everybody else. As it ended at about 11pm they departed slowly, girls carrying their shoes and maintaining their style and glamour, boys drenched in sweat, partially deaf and with no voice left, into the awaiting lifts and on to the closest fast food place. Standard, and how great to have these occasions back!
Best wishes
