Dear Parents & Carers
I am delighted to see music growing in Myton School. We have never tried to shrink music here (that has happened around the country as budgets are cut) but it has gone through a period of low uptake at GCSE and A Level. However, this term we have seen it begin to grow again. It was great to hear live music in our Peter Pan production last week and Wednesday was the Christmas music concert with over 50 students taking part. This morning, music led the way again at the carol service at St Mary’s church. We have also seen an increase in students opting for music A level and will look forward to seeing it back on our post-16 curriculum next year. My thanks and congratulations to our music department, all the students involved in the various productions and our drama department for their work on Peter Pan.
A very happy Christmas and new year to all our students, parents and staff.
