Myton is Lead School for Computing
We’re delighted to report that Myton School has been designated a Lead School by the organisation, Computing at School. The award reflects our school’s expertise in and commitment to computing and means we will take a lead in the area, cascading good practice and experience to other schools.
As you may know, at Myton we deliver Computing from Year 7 through to Year 13 and offer Computer Science at both GCSE and A Level. Head of Computing, Michelle Buxton said: “Being recognised as a Lead School by CAS demonstrates the importance we place on computing as a subject and how this is reflected in the curriculum in a broad and balanced way. We are keen to work with other schools in the area, sharing this good practice, to ensure that all students within the local community also benefit.”
Computing at School is a nationally recognised organisation that aims to put the excitement back into computing in schools and is supported financially by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, Microsoft, Google, Ensoft and the UK Committee of Heads and Professors of Computer Science.
