Effective feedback and marking – become part of a research team
This is an opportunity to join a small research team (about 15 teachers; one from each school) to establish and then disseminate effective practice in marking and feedback. The aim after this initial meeting is then to conduct small scale classroom based research as part of this team in order to publish a pocket guide for Partnership Plus on this current and controversial topic.

A conference of NQTs and RQTs
Welcome to Partnership Plus with practical advice on starting lessons matched to pupil needs and establishing routines
The school will film 2 of their NQTs starting a lesson for 15 minutes. The intention is that teachers would be present and able to talk through their approaches giving NQTs the chance to evaluate practice.

3 Lesson Observation for Real opportunities
All three will be classroom based (places are therefore limited) and will focus on drama; arty and science.

Delegates will use the Avon Valley lesson observation pro forma and have the opportunity to share their views on the lessons. All delegates will come together to consider how Avon Valley School use lesson observations in their performance management systems.

Lesson observation for Real: an Opening Minds RSA lesson observation
The twilight session will be in the format of a ‘Lesson Observation’ by distance, where the lesson will have been previously delivered and colleagues are then invited to bring electronic devices to access this video through our own ‘youtube’ channel. The activity will be facilitated by Opening Minds and CPD specialists who will highlight the importance of using ‘competences’ in learning and promoting a ‘Growth Mind-Set’ in cross-curricular teaching.

A focus on SBS skills with a focus on resilience
Part 1 – Part 2 will be a lesson observation for real session in which we see the skills, noted below, delivered.
An overview of Skills that prepare students for Beyond School (PLTS. The session focuses on strategies to build students learning power to become effective learners in the classroom, with a focus on developing skills around the resilience. Strategies include the Learning Pit and developing a classroom culture that fosters resilience.

More details of each event are sent out two or three weeks beforehand. If there are changes we will let you know as early as possible. More often than not schools find themselves in a position of developing expertise in areas during the academic year and offer to add to the existing programme. Offers are always welcome and we send out an updated programme as soon as we have the information available.
Numbers are only limited where mentioned. However, there will be limits for the accommodation and evening meals available at the February 2017 residential event. The Friday evening key note speech and the Saturday workshops do not have limited spaces.
