Continuing professional development (CPD) at Myton
Myton School fervently believes in supporting the whole school workforce through providing a calendar of CPD that is personalised, relevant and contribute to teaching and learning. The school is a learning organisation, creating a culture that encourages continual learning. Evaluations show CPD positively impacts on school improvement with teaching and learning being at the heart of continual professional development.
The school embraces 21st Century pedagogy and innovation, realising that in a rapidly changing environment such as education, staff should have the opportunity to include Masters’ and other research into their working practice and thereby incorporate new knowledge in day-to-day activities.
As well as research, collaborative occasions are regular, leading to critical thinking and risk-taking for new ideas, with great teamwork. This facilitates dissemination of best practice across the curriculum.
Frequent opportunities are afforded to the individual to review and identify personal needs, with a large twilight programme and action packed INSET days being part of the package. We do try to cover every training and CPD requirement in–house but also arrange external training on request.
