Sixth Form at Myton School
and Specialist Science College
Myton has established a highly successful Sixth Form with nearly 60% of our Year 11 students choosing to continue their studies here, as well as a good number of students from other schools who joined us last year.
Our examination results are outstanding – well above local and national averages – with most students going on to University, including Oxford and Cambridge. In addition, entry into the professions and high-quality traineeships in national companies are excellent.
There are five main reasons for our success:-
• Excellent teaching from experienced and enthusiastic staff who care about your success.
• Careful, personal support and guidance.
• A relaxed but purposeful environment in excellent accommodation. There is a designated Sixth Form common room and separate supervised private study area, together with an excellent library.
• Expert careers and higher education advice.
• A strong partnership between students, parents and Myton.
Sixth Form life offers a rich and varied experience outside subject areas; in technology, drama, sport, music, community care, foreign exchanges, outdoor pursuits, work experience and schemes like Young Enterprise, Interact and the Millennium Volunteers.
We know that these experiences greatly enhance your prospects in higher education and employment applications, whilst also providing every opportunity for you to enjoy your time in the Sixth Form.
Sixth Form life is challenging, but it is also enjoyable and rewarding, providing you with an environment designed to encourage independence as well as responsibility for yourselves for others.
Myton School offers a wonderful Sixth Form experience and whether you are currently at Myton or at another school, you and your parents are warmly invited to find out more about the opportunities and courses available to you.

institutions, many options have been developed to extend the range of
subjects that can be studied. ‘

responsibility and leadership. Students’ responses have been outstanding
